Small business spotlight: Worthing Reflexology

We continue our series of small business spotlights with Monika from Worthing Reflexology.

Tell us a bit about your business

I'm Monika, and I own a small holistic therapies business, where I offer therapies like face/feet reflexology,  Indian Head massage, reiki, cupping and hopi ear candling. I started my business in 2015 after suffering mental health issues, because I wanted to help people who are stressed and have a range of physical health issues to approach their life more holistically.

What’s the best thing about running a small business?

The best thing is that I can work around my family, my dog and hobbies. I can set my own hours and help people. The fact that my long-term clients become my friends is another bonus.

And what are the biggest challenges?

The biggest challenge is the fact that when you are not well or want to go away for holiday, no one pays you. You simply don't earn, which in turn can be a bit stressful,  especially when the number of clients can vary from week to week.

What advice would you give to someone starting a small business?

Don’t give up. It can take up to 2-3 years to build up your client base. Be grateful to your clients - without them your business would not exist.

What made you switch to Lopay?

Lopay offered the best rates and amazing customer service.

How has Lopay helped your business?

When I struggle with money I can quickly choose to have the money sent to me the same day for a small fee.
