A year of Lopay

Taking a payment with Lopay

We don’t like to blow our own trumpet too much, but as it’s Christmas we’ve rolled out the full brass band. Since launching in January it’s been quite a year, so here’s Lopay’s 2022 in review:

We saved thousands of small businesses thousands of pounds

We launched Lopay to help small businesses save money on unnecessary and unfair payment fees. The rate at which we’ve grown, and the way our users have helped spread the word, has been amazing!

We got you more tips

When we launched, tipping wasn’t available on Lopay. But our users quickly told us it was something they needed, so we got to work. Not content with just adding basic tipping, we launched our Smart Tipping feature, which shows customers either a custom amount or percentage amount as a suggested tip, based on what’s likely to prompt them to be more generous!

We launched a Point of Sale (POS) solution

We were nominated for EIGHT awards!

It’s always nice to be recognised for your efforts, so we were delighted that Lopay’s team and our payment app technology was nominated for 8 awards at the UK Business Tech Awards and The Payments Awards. We walked away with silver awards for FinTech Innovator of the Year, and Most Impressive Growth, as well as featuring in TechRound’s FinTech 50 list.

We joined forces

This year we’ve partnered with a number of leading industry associations. Joining forces to combine their sector expertise with our low rates, we’re able to offer added value to their members.

We’re now working alongside the likes of the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology, and taxi and private hire platform Veezu.

We made invoicing easier

Invoices can be a chore, so we made it easier and cheaper for Xero customers to automate the process. With our integration, businesses can take advantage of our low rates when sending invoices from Xero.

We got the team involved

Running a small business is all about teamwork, so we made it easier for your employees to take payments on your behalf. With our Teams feature you’re in full control, and can set access levels and see reports for each team member.
